The Kessenyan Singers were formed in 1994 by Phil Carrigan (who is currently the Musical Director of the Polperro Fishermens Choir) and have sung mainly in and around Cornwall. However we have ventured further a field, to Wales and twice to Canada. We have performed in Bangor, Northern Ireland where we took part in the prestigious Bangor International Choral Festival, both as guests of the organising committee and as competitors.
In 2004, our 10th anniversary year, we sang in the four corners of our county.
With trips to France and once more to Canada proposed for the future we are not a choir to let the grass grow under our feet!
In the future we intend taking our blend of traditional and modern music where ever we are invited – hopefully living up to the meaning of our name, which is Cornish for harmony.
